1. Information kept on your device
The app stores the following information locally so its reading and playback features work:
- Bookmarks, recent readings, and your last reading position for each surah.
- Reading preferences, including font, translation, tafsir, reciter, playback speed, and repeat settings.
- Temporary copies of Quran content, fonts, and audio used to improve reliability and reduce repeat downloads. Ordinary cached items expire after no more than six days.
This information may reveal interaction with religious content and can be sensitive under some privacy laws. It remains within the app’s storage on your device and is not transmitted to MT Tech. You choose whether to create bookmarks or use history and playback features.
You can remove this local information by deleting Pocket Quran from your device.
2. Information sent when requesting Quran content
Pocket Quran retrieves public Quran text, translations, tafsir, chapter metadata, fonts, recitation information, and audio from Quran Foundation, Quran.com API, and Quran CDN infrastructure. When you use search, your search term is sent to the Quran content service so it can return matching verses.
As with ordinary internet requests, these providers may receive technical information such as your IP address, request time, requested resource, and basic network or device information. Their handling of this information is governed by their policies, including the Quran.com Privacy Policy and the Quran Foundation Developer Privacy Policy Packet.
Pocket Quran does not currently provide Quran Foundation account sign-in or OAuth access. It does not transmit your local bookmarks, reading history, or preferences to Quran Foundation.
3. Service providers and information sharing
Information is shared only when needed to provide a feature you request, operate this website, answer support messages, comply with law, or protect the security of Pocket Quran and its users. The relevant recipients are Quran content and audio providers, website hosting providers, and our email provider. We do not share information with data brokers, advertising networks, or cross-app tracking services.
Service providers acting on MT Tech’s behalf are required to use information only for the service they provide and to apply protections consistent with this policy and applicable law. Quran Foundation, Quran.com, Quran CDN, and Apple may also process information as independent providers under their own privacy policies.
4. Information we do not use
- No advertising SDKs or cross-app tracking technologies are included in the app.
- We do not sell, rent, mine, or build advertising profiles from personal information.
- We do not use your reading activity, bookmarks, searches, notes, or other personal content to train artificial-intelligence models.
- The app does not request your contacts, location, photos, camera, microphone, or health information.
5. Support communications
If you email support, we receive your email address and anything you include in the message. We use it only to investigate and respond to your request. Please do not send sensitive personal information. Support Messages are normally deleted within 24 months after the issue is resolved. They may be kept longer when reasonably necessary for an ongoing security investigation, legal obligation, or legal claim.
6. This website
This informational website does not use advertising cookies or analytics. Its hosting server may create short-lived security and operational logs containing an IP address, browser type, requested page, time, and response status. These logs are used only to keep the website secure and available and are normally deleted within 30 days.
7. Security
Network traffic uses HTTPS/TLS. Local data benefits from the security protections provided by iOS. Access to the website server and support systems is restricted, and operational credentials are kept out of the app. We follow least-privilege and credential-rotation practices consistent with Quran Foundation Security Rule 6.9.
If an incident involving Quran Foundation APIs or related user information is suspected, we will investigate promptly and notify Quran Foundation within 24 hours when their reporting requirements apply.
8. Children
Pocket Quran does not offer account registration and is designed to avoid collecting personal information from its users, including children. Parents and guardians should supervise a child’s use where appropriate. If you believe a child has sent personal information in a support message, contact us so it can be deleted.
9. Your choices and rights
You may remove individual bookmarks from the app and delete all locally stored Pocket Quran data by deleting the app. Because MT Tech does not receive that on-device data, we cannot access or delete it remotely. You may contact us to access, correct, or delete information contained in a support conversation or identifiable website record, or to object to or restrict its processing where applicable. Requests are normally completed within 30 days; residual backup records, if any, are removed within 90 days.
10. International processing
Quran content providers, email systems, and website infrastructure may process requests outside your country. Where required, we rely on applicable legal transfer mechanisms and require service providers to protect information in accordance with their terms and applicable law.
11. Changes and contact
Material changes will be announced through the app or this website, and the effective date above will be updated. MT Tech is responsible for the information it processes under this policy. For privacy questions or requests, email support@mttech.uz. We aim to respond within 30 days.
